Engraving for Fundraisers

We can personalize some wonderful wooden tribute plaques for that special someone to honor them for who they are, by memorializing what they do.

To often, we fall into a box frame of mind when it comes to fundraising ideas. We fall into the trap of doing what everyone else is doing or doing what we personally have done in the past.

To fall into this trap will get you an average of what you have gotten in the past, but why not do something new? Give your client base something new to cherish. Something personalized. Something that will last longer than cookies, something more practical than a candle, and something more perm in ant than holiday novelty items.

Whether it be for Spanish club or the athletics department, you can't go wrong with personalized items to raise money for your school.

Keychains with your school's mascot on it, or a symbol of your sport with a pep phrase on it to inspire. Maybe go one step farther and have your name and a jersey number added for very little extra cost.

My father-in-law recently died of ALS, my uncle died of cancer, and I am a big supporter of the ASPCA, so I am aware of how difficult raising money for a not-for-profit business can be.

If you are a church, not-for-profit, or school looking to raise funds for a new building, new property, or additions, a good fundraising idea that really works is to get your customers to invest in the project by literally owning a small section of that project. This is easily done by selling memorial bricks and / or tiles.

For the cheeseheads out there, Lambeau Field is a prime example of how well these engraved brick and tiles do. We didn't have anything to do with the engraving on this project (DANG IT!), but it is a true testament as to how well this does.

COMMEMORATIVE BRICK AND TILE SALES RESULTS
Sales Exceed $1.5 Million Dollar June 25, 2007

GREEN BAY, WI -- The Green Bay/Brown County Professional Football Stadium District today announced sales results for its commemorative brick and tile program, which was launched January 14, 2003. The program enables fans or businesses to have a brick or tile with a personalized inscription installed at Lambeau Field; replica products are also available for direct shipment to an address specified by the purchaser.

Through May 31, 2007, gross sales equal $1,502,505. There have been 8,350 orders placed for 12,338 items--7,341 for installation at the stadium and 4,997 for replica products. Items sold include 8,232 bricks and 4,106 tiles.

Brick and tile engraved with the information of a loved one, a business, or even yourself, gives ownership in the project. They have something that they can look for in years to come and say, "here's my brick."

Now it should be obvious that any of these ideas are interchangeable. Any of these ideas can work for any needs you may have no matter what organization you are fundraising for.
